Your coding agents, on your phone

Run luther on your Mac, pair your phone, and start, steer and approve Claude Code, Codex and five more agents from anywhere. End-to-end encrypted.

Free and open source under Apache 2.0.

Luther on an iPhone: Claude Code asks to edit tests/login.spec.ts, with Yes, Yes and don't ask again, and No

Every agent’s threads in one list

Threads from every agent and project sit together. Open one to read the reply, answer what it asks or queue the next task. See the seven agents

Luther's home screen: four running threads from Claude, Codex, Devin and Oh My Pi, one needing you, then the projects on the MacAn open Codex thread: it added retries to the payment webhook, ran the tests, and is opening a pull request

Works with seven coding agents

Luther starts each agent’s own CLI with the login, plan and limits you already have, and shows the models and effort levels that agent lists.

Your code stays on your Mac

Every way in ends at Luther on 127.0.0.1. A paired phone seals each request with X25519 and AES-256-GCM, so a tunnel carries only ciphertext.

No relay or database of ours sits in between.

The admin token works only on the Mac itself.

Remove a phone and its connections close within seconds.

Read the security notes

What you can do from the phone. The same sessions you have at the desk.

Answer what the agent asks

Approve a command, answer a question or accept a plan, and the agent carries on.

Review each turn’s changes

Read the diff of every turn, then commit, push and open the pull request.

Pick the model and effort

Each agent lists its own models, from Opus 5.5 to the hundreds Oh My Pi offers.

Open a terminal on the Mac

A tmux terminal that survives a dropped connection; pick it up later at the desk.

Set up Luther in 3 steps

1

Build the server

One Go binary; luther doctor lists what is missing.

2

Choose a way in

Tailscale Funnel or a Cloudflare tunnel; nothing to install on the phone.

3

Pair your phone

Scan the code luther pair shows; it works once and expires in minutes.

The rest is in the README on GitHub.

  • macOS and iPhone

  • Source on GitHub

Read the README

What does Luther cost?

Nothing. It is open source under the Apache License 2.0; you build it from source.

Does my code leave the Mac?

No. The agents run on the Mac with their own logins; the phone sends prompts and reads sealed replies.

Do I need Tailscale on my phone?

Only for the tailnet-only route. Funnel and both Cloudflare tunnels reach the Mac from any network.

Which phones does it run on?

iPhone and Android, both built from source for now. Widgets and Live Activities are iPhone-only.

What happens when the Mac sleeps?

The agents stop until it wakes. Luther keeps the Mac awake while it runs, but closing the lid still sleeps it.
